Ambulance and Rescue Services
First Branch Ambulance
The ambulance squad is a volunteer emergency medical service staffed by Tunbridge and Chelsea residents who are state certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Emergency Care Attendants (ECAs). The fully equipped ambulance carries oxygen, a cardiac defibrillator, spinal immobilization devices and supplies to treat injury or illness.
In addition to providing emergency care and transport of ill and injured persons, First Branch Ambulance offers local first aid and CPR training and public education in emergency medical procedures.
Meetings are held twice a month, once at Chelsea Fire Station where the ambulance is housed and once at Tunbridge Fire Station where the Rescue Truck is kept. Volunteers are always welcome. Training courses are scheduled throughout the year.

First Branch Rescue
The all-volunteer rescue squad removes accident victims from auto, farm, and woodland accidents and works with the Tunbridge and Chelsea Fire Departments, providing a lighting plant and air bottle refilling service at fire scenes. The Rescue Truck is fully equipped with a hydraulic rescue tool system, compressed air-driven cutting tools and high-speed metal-cutting saws as well as a variety of jacks, air bags and other lifting and stabilizing devices.
The Rescue is the first response medical unit in Tunbridge, bringing supplies and equipment to the scene for use by local EMTs while the ambulance is en route from Chelsea. Men and women who are competent with tools or interested in learning rescue work and patient extrication are welcome. All that is needed is a commitment to learn the necessary skills and attend training sessions. Contact any squad member for information. Meets are held at the Tunbridge Fire Station once or twice a month.
